Justice Officer Job Description

The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria is seeking a Casual Justice Officer to join its team at the Beechworth Correctional Centre. As a Justice Officer, you will provide a range of store services within a prison facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide store services within a prison facility.
  • Serve prisoners within prisoner shops/canteens.
  • Directly supervise prisoner workers.
  • Order and receipt stock.
  • Maintain minimum stock levels and shop lists.
  • Ensure the security of shop stock.
  • Conduct stocktaking and stock-control.
  • Keep accurate records.
  • Ensure the shop is clean and in good order.

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of legislation and its application.
  • Well-developed computer literacy and experience with finance-related systems.
  • Understanding of store operations including associated stock management.

About This Role

The Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility focused on preparing individuals for release and successful reintegration back into society. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
