Heavy Machinery Technician Job Opportunity

This role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant and quarrying machinery. The job requires a passion for heavy machinery and a desire to learn a hands-on trade that keeps industries moving.

  • You will work in both the workshop and quarry sites, gaining hands-on experience with:
  • Crushers and screeners
  • Loaders and excavators
  • Haul trucks and skid steers
  • Conveyors and fixed plant equipment
About the Role

As an apprentice you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced technicians how to diagnose and repair mechanical faults in quarry machines. You will also learn about hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems maintenance, preventative servicing and inspections to minimise downtime, as well as welding, fabrication and field breakdown repairs.

Additionally, you will gain knowledge of safe work practices in a quarry environment and learn how to keep accurate job documentation and servicing records.
