Job Title: Senior Backend Software Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our engineering squad, you'll play a vital role in designing and building services that inform and engage parents about their child's learning progress.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to critical integrations with our payment and billing partners, ensuring seamless functionality across the platform. With flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Australia, this role offers a perfect blend of autonomy and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain robust web applications using Elixir.
  • Collaborate closely with design, product, and development teams to deliver solutions aligned with project goals.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Participate in agile development processes, including code reviews and team retrospectives.
What You'll Bring:
  • Senior-level experience with a backend language, e.g., Elixir, Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, team-player attitude.
  • Solid knowledge of database management systems (Postgre SQL, My SQL).
  • Experience with integrating third-party APIs.
Bonus Skills:
  • Experience with Elixir and Graph QL.
  • Familiarity with Ember.js or related frontend frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Kafka or experience with payment/billing systems.
