Job Opportunity: We are seeking a talented Journalist to join our team at Newcastle Weekly, a leading independent publisher in the region.

About the Role:

• As a Journalist, you will be responsible for creating engaging content for our multiple platforms, including news articles, feature stories, and advertorials.
• You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of topics, including local news, current affairs, sports, politics, events, arts, entertainment, food, fashion, and lifestyle.
• We are looking for someone with a strong news sense, excellent research and writing skills, and a deep understanding of our local communities.
• You will be expected to work to deadlines, multitask, and be able to work autonomously and productively within a team environment.
• We are seeking a candidate with two years of post-graduate experience in journalism.

• You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a strong desire to upskill with video storytelling.
• You will have a good network of contacts and sources for news, and be able to attend relevant industry events to promote our brands.
