Diesel Fitter Job Description

Found People is seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter to join our team. As a Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a fleet of diesel-powered machinery and equipment used in major oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components of heavy machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan and reliability of equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with project and plant maintenance teams to ensure machinery is in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to stay updated with the latest technologies and maintenance practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitting) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter, preferably within the oil and gas sector or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
