**Senior Network Automation Specialist Role Overview**

This is a pivotal role in our mid to large-scale network security operations team. As a Senior Network Automation Specialist, you will play a key part in handling level 3 escalations, managing vulnerability and maintenance windows, and supporting our network automation platform.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Installation, configuration, and upgrade of hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  2. Management of network and security performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting, and continuous improvement to optimise performance.
  3. Identification, analysis, and management of risk at every aspect of work.
  4. Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access.
  5. Undertake project design and architecture work, including high-level and detailed design work.
  6. Provide technical consultation to business/technology stakeholders to support relevant infrastructure partners and other business stakeholders.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Coding skills: Python scripting/coding (intermediate) - primary importance.
  • DevOps tools skills: BitBucket, Jenkins, JIRA, GitHub, Terraform, Vault.
  • Network security: operational expertise in the networking domain, showcasing your ability to tackle complex network challenges.
  • Experience with F5 load balancer, GTM/LTM, Firewalls - Juniper SRX, Fortinet FortiGate, VMware (now Broadcom) NSX.
  • Data management skills: data collection, schema binding, data manipulation, and analytical skills.
