Key Responsibilities
  • Client Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear and compassionate communication regarding their pets' health and treatment options.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Administer and analyze diagnostic tests, including hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, and urinalysis, to aid in accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Surgical Support: Assist veterinarians with surgical and therapeutic procedures, ensuring aseptic standards and protocols are met.
  • Anesthesia and Pain Management: Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia, adhering to veterinary scope of practice and provincial laws governing the RVT profession.
  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional veterinary nursing care, synthesizing veterinary theory, principles, and concepts to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Medical Records: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to regulated procedures and standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain state-of-the-art veterinary medical equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Execute and evaluate quality diagnostic images, applying knowledge of theory, principles, and concepts.
  • Dental Care: Perform dental procedures, adhering to professional veterinary industry standards and employing in-depth knowledge of dental structures, conditions, and lesions.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of medical supplies, adhering to veterinary office inventory control procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative work environment, supporting and assisting other staff members as needed.
Education and Qualifications
  • Diploma in Veterinary Technician/Technologist
