About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality anaesthetic care across a range of elective surgical specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administering perioperative and operative anaesthetic services for patients undergoing surgical, medical, obstetric, or investigational procedures.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to manage the day surgery unit's work, particularly the anaesthesia component.
- Providing acute resuscitation services for medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies, including retrieval services.
About the Facility
The facility is a regional center in Victoria that serves around 12,000 acute inpatients and 17,000 Emergency Department patients annually. It offers a wide range of services, including general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, ophthalmology, dentistry, endoscopy, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and pediatric care.
Requirements
- A primary medical qualification registered or registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetics (or assessment by the college that the position holder is suitable for the position).
