Maintenance and Grounds Person Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled maintenance and grounds professional to join our facilities management team. As a key member, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our school facilities and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect school buildings and grounds to ensure all is in order
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all external areas including paths and hard surfaces
  • Removal of graffiti
  • Assist in ensuring classrooms and furniture are in order
  • Minor repairs to fixtures and fittings
  • Repairs to doors and windows
  • Repairs to desks and chairs
  • Ensure the maintenance of all school tools and maintenance/grounds equipment
  • General gardening and landscaping duties as required
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently undertake general handyperson tasks, repairs and maintenance to the interior and exterior of buildings and grounds work within a school environment
  • A strong work ethic, eye for detail and a sense of pride in efficiently completing work to a high standard as well as the ability to work independently and to follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with tradespeople, suppliers, school staff and students
  • Ability to identify and assess potential risks that may impact on the school community including contractors and visitors
Selection Criteria
