About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our department based in Mount Isa with outreach to Normanton and Cloncurry. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of families and young people.

  • This role is permanent, full-time, and offers a range of benefits including SCHADS L5 Salary + Location Allowance, extensive support for professional development, and above award payment.
  • You will be responsible for participating in program and service planning, review monitoring and evaluation activities, and ensuring efficient, effective, and appropriate service provision.
  • Key responsibilities include completing casework to a high standard, coaching and mentoring team members, maintaining comprehensive client records, and ensuring working from a trauma-informed practice framework.
Requirements
  • Possession of a relevant degree in social work or psychology and a minimum of three years' experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced trauma.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working within theoretical and therapeutic approaches relevant to the work of RAIFSS.
  • Highly developed communication skills, knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues, and ability to undertake risk assessments relating to suicidal ideation and child protection concerns.
