About the Unit:

Level 3 is a specialized acute ward comprising 33 beds dedicated to Surgical and Medical care, focusing on various surgical disciplines including General, Bariatric, Urological, Gynaecological, Plastics/Reconstructive, and Colorectal Surgery, along with 14 Medical Beds. The ward also features a 4-bed Higher Observation Unit. This environment provides a multitude of learning experiences aimed at supporting nurses in their transition to acute hospital care.

Role Responsibilities:

The Clinical Nurse Facilitator will play a pivotal role in delivering education and support to four newly appointed staff members as they navigate their transition from sub-acute to acute nursing through the EACP. Throughout the 6-week program, the Clinical Facilitator will offer supernumerary support to the EACP participants, facilitating a swift and effective transition into acute care. Collaboration with Nurse Unit Managers will be essential to ensure comprehensive support for the EACP members.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
  • Current AHPRA Registration is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently during high-demand periods.
  • Proven capability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
  • A commitment to joining a team dedicated to compassionate care in a mission-driven organization.
  • Experience in facilitating education across various formats, including individual, group, or simulation settings.
