About the Role

MACA Interquip Mintrex is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team in West Perth. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in delivering small to large-scale EPC and EPCM projects for the resources sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop multi-discipline plant concepts and layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Review vendor drawings and design data.
  • Manage and provide support to the project team to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, standards, and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the project team, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Produce discipline-specific deliverables that meet company, client, and statutory requirements.
  • Review and provide feedback on vendor drawings and interdisciplinary design data.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in mining, mineral processing mechanical plant design.
  • Previous experience in 3D modeling and drafting in a relevant CAD package.
  • Proficiency in the layout of process plant equipment.
  • Competency in design checking highly regarded.
  • Ability to review and provide constructive feedback on vendor drawings and interdisciplinary design data.
  • Solid understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles, and practices.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
