We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Deli Assistant to join our team at Costco Epping. As a Deli Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and packaging rotisserie chickens and other rotisserie items. You will also be responsible for stocking and rotating boxes of chickens and other items, following Costco formulas and diagrams to prepare merchandise, and maintaining a clean and organized deli area.
Key Responsibilities- Rotisserie Chicken Preparation: Skewer chickens and prepare them to be placed into the rotisserie. Load skewers of chickens into the rotisserie rotator slots and load the oven. Test cooking chicken for temperature and package in domed trays.
- Meat Preparation: Open packages of meat, poultry, or seafood and add sauce or other ingredients per formula. Place in roasting baskets in commercial rotisserie ovens, package for sale, and place in warming display cases.
- Quality Control: Follow Costco formulas and diagrams, and monitor finished merchandise to ensure department consistency and quality standards are met. Comply with health codes and uphold safety and security procedures.
- Inventory Management: Rotate and stock boxes of chickens and boxes of other rotisserie items in the cooler. Rotate and stock supplies in the prep area and cooler.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.
- Record Keeping: Complete and comply with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by the warehouse and Service Deli.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements. Clean equipment, wash and sanitize parts.
- Merchandise Management: Count merchandise on hand, figure production needs, and document production on daily forms. Fill out time and temperature record forms. Record merchandise to be salvaged, damaged, or destroyed for Manager audit.
- Cleaning and Organization: Clean the deli area, clean pans and utensils, empty drain screens and trash. Operate the trash compactor and cardboard baler. Clean rotisserie ovens and hoods.
- Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
- Communication: Articulate information in a way that can be easily understood by employees, members, and suppliers. Actively listen to fellow employees, members, and managers.
- Member Service: Exhibit a professional demeanor toward others. Unselfishly serve others and assist members, employees, and suppliers in a prompt and effective manner while following company procedures. Ability to identify problems, find solutions, and make sound decisions that reflect Costco's Code of Ethics.
- Self-Motivated: Well-organized and able to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines while working efficiently and independently with minimal supervision. Accept responsibility for his/her choices and decisions.
- Team Player: Cooperate well with a variety of personalities and individuals and participate in a professional manner to accomplish the business goal. Willingness to perform tasks assigned by supervisors and to assist others as needed.
- Flexibility: Adjust positively to change in direction or assignment. Ability to do more than one task during a work shift. Willingness and ability to comply with new programs, methods, practices, and procedures.

- Kitchen Experience: Must have kitchen experience.
