Infrastructure Architect

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to spearhead our data center migration initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive the development of comprehensive migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with domain representatives to prioritize and assess applications for migration and group them accordingly.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and document the current state of applications, including server configuration, storage, integration points, criticality, user access, and more.
  • Create and update current state artifacts, including logical and physical architecture diagrams.
  • Work closely with application teams to close gaps in the current state documentation and implementation.
  • Partner with commodity compute, enterprise compute, storage, and network teams to define migration approaches and refine strategies.
  • Provide input on migration strategies for integration and shared services.
  • Design and develop target state architecture for on-premise deployments, particularly for perimeter and complex applications.
  • Socialize target state architecture with application teams, solution design peers, security teams, and review boards to ensure alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal architecture and security teams to obtain necessary approvals for perimeter and/or complex applications.
  • Lead technical efforts in subsequent build and migration activities, providing guidance and escalating issues where necessary.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in data center migrations, particularly in large-scale and complex environments.
  • Expertise in infrastructure architecture and design, with a focus on on-premise deployment strategies for complex applications.
  • Hands-on experience creating logical and physical architecture diagrams.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in creating and updating current state documentation for migration activities.
  • Solid understanding of server, storage, integration, and network components as they relate to application migrations.
  • Experience in leading and managing migration activities, including troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols and frameworks related to data center migration activities.
  • Experience with cloud migration (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, etc.).
