Nursing Professorship Opportunity

RMIT University seeks a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to join its School of Health and Biomedical Sciences, contributing to teaching and research growth within the Nursing Discipline. The role offers an ongoing appointment based at the Bundoora Campus with remuneration ranging from $135,814 to $180,166 per annum + 17% Super.
As a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor, you will be responsible for leading academic leadership duties, teaching activities, scholarship, research, and industry engagement efforts of the School in the Discipline of Nursing. Specifically, you will contribute to the planning and strategic direction of the School, taking on academic leadership roles involving participation in various committees within the School, College, and University, as well as external bodies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare high-quality curriculum and program materials to implement innovative approaches to student-centered learning and quality improvement.
- Nationally recognised research track record including substantial records of research outputs in high-quality outlets and emerging international recognition.
- Extensive experience in research leadership, building collaborative research teams, mentoring academic staff, attracting and securing external research funding, managing funded research projects, and supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance, and quality management systems within a university.
- High-level interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills, including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes, and targets within a collaborative environment.
To be considered for this position, you must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia as a Registered Nurse, hold a PhD in a related field, or approved AQF equivalency with relevant industry experience. Appointment is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
