The Graduate Research School seeks an Associate Director to lead the end-to-end delivery of services across the Higher Degree Research lifecycle.

This pivotal leadership role will oversee a dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering a seamless, client-focused HDR experience to candidates and supervisors.

As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of HDR at UNSW by supporting academic excellence, strengthening researcher capability, and contributing to the strategic priorities of the UNSW Research Plan and Progress for All strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a high-performing team to deliver a seamless HDR experience
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to embed innovative systems, streamline operations, and ensure continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • A postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in Higher Degree Research management
  • Proven experience managing high-performing teams with a client-first mindset
  • Expertise in HDR policy, funding, systems, and national/international research trends
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making
