Maternity Leave Dietitian Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dietitian to provide acute dietetic cover in our hospital.

This part-time role will involve providing evidence-based nutritional assessment and management of patients, contributing to the multidisciplinary care of our patients, and supervising undergraduate students.

About the Role:

  • Dietary Management: Provide evidence-based nutritional assessment and management of patients in an acute hospital setting.
  • Clinical Reasoning: Demonstrate sound clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
  • Multidisciplinary Care: Contribute to the care of patients through collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Education and Training: Supervise and educate undergraduate students in their clinical placement.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families/caregivers, and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent as recognized by the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  • Eligible for full membership and APD status with the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in an acute hospital setting.
  • Well-developed clinical nutrition skills and competence in nasogastric feeds and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
  • Strong time management, communication, and leadership skills.
