The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced academic staff member to join our team in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales. As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in an Education Focussed role, you will have the opportunity to specialise in education and devote your time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students.

The purpose of Education Focused roles is to enable academics to drive educational excellence within the university's teaching and learning communities. You will be expected to successfully drive educational initiatives and contribute to the development of our students.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class institution and contribute to the growth and development of our students. As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible for:

  • Teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
  • Developing and delivering courses and programs that meet the needs of our students
  • Contributing to the development of our students through mentorship and guidance
  • Participating in curriculum development and improvement initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
  • Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Experience in implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience in work-integrated learning
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
