Animal Training and Sales Role

Petbarn, a leading pet specialty retailer, is seeking a skilled and passionate Animal Trainer/Sales Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver dog training classes and one-on-one dog training while also providing exceptional customer service in our Rockingham store. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training content and ensuring that our customers have a great experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver dog training classes and one-on-one dog training sessions with precision and enthusiasm.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing all client queries and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services and achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for all animals and clients.
Requirements:Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • A passion for animal behavior and training, with experience or qualifications in positive reinforcement-based training highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with clients of varying pet experience levels.
  • Physical ability to handle dogs of various sizes safely and efficiently.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous retail experience working in a high-volume, disciplined environment.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with animal studies and commitment to ongoing learning and improvement in animal training practices.
