Unlock the full potential of System On Chip (SoC) platforms with Ubuntu Linux
About the Role:We are seeking skilled software developers to join our team and help expand Ubuntu Linux adoption by supporting more SoC platforms and optimising performance for all users.
The successful candidate will have a strong aptitude for software engineering at the hardware level, with a passion for optimal performance. While direct experience with the Linux kernel is advantageous, candidates with prior background in other RTOS' or bare-metal environments can also apply if they can demonstrate direct hardware experience.
- Collaborate regularly with a globally distributed team to deliver silicon-optimised variants of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
- Work closely with silicon vendor partners to improve tooling and automation.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in the kernel to maximise performance on partner silicon.
- Well-organised and motivated self-starter able to thrive in a remote work environment.
- Professional manner with colleagues and business partners.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Significant programming ability in C.
- Strong grasp of device drivers, BSP's, and other aspects of hardware-level system engineering.
- Solid background with git.
- Understanding of operating system kernel fundamentals.
