About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Works Operator to join our team at Muswellbrook Shire Council. As a Works Operator, you will be responsible for delivering a range of jobs across our community infrastructure, including utilities, roads, and parks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled and professional laboring, truck driving, plant operating, and other duties involved in the construction and maintenance of Council's roads, drainage, bridges, parks, reserves, water and sewer networks.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to deliver projects and maintain our community infrastructure.
  • Operate a range of plant and machinery, including trucks, rollers, graders, mowers, and whipper snippers.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to all relevant safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in teamwork, general laboring tasks, and use of plant and machinery.
  • Safework NSW General Construction Induction card (or willingness to obtain).
  • Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans (desirable).
  • Class C driver licence.
  • MR, HR, or HC truck driver licence (desirable or willingness to obtain).
  • Certificate of Competency in Front end loader, Skid steer loader, Excavator, and motor grader (desirable or willingness to obtain).
What We Offer
  • Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week, with a gross weekly salary from $1122.48 to $1261.12 based on demonstrated competencies, qualifications, skills, and experience.
  • Casual with an hourly rate from $36.9240 to $41.4845 (inclusive of casual loading, plus superannuation) based on demonstrated competencies, qualifications, skills, and experience.
