Water Management Expert Lead

As a Senior Water Management Engineer at Fortescue, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of sustainable water management solutions for our mining operations. Located at the Cloudbreak mine site, this position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the company's goal of decarbonising its iron ore operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a diverse team responsible for production, reliability, control systems, and dewatering hydrogeology.
- Establish and maintain standardised measuring, monitoring, and reporting of asset performance, providing strategies to improve asset reliability.
- Identify and implement improvements to dewatering-related standards, specifications, procedures, systems, and processes.
- Liaise with Projects to ensure safe and successful design, implementation, and commissioning of delivered water projects.
- Provide technical direction to operations and maintenance teams to enhance continuous improvement and optimisation of dewatering and water supply networks.
- Develop and drive improvement projects that benefit the department and stakeholders.
- Contribute to operational budget development and business case creation for capital investment projects.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental) or Geosciences.
- Water management experience in the mining industry, specifically in large-scale open-pit dewatering, water supply, reinjection, sumping, and tailings operations.
- Familiarity with Industry and Australian Standards, Mine Safety & Inspection, and OHS Act/Regs.
- Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders across organisational levels.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using GIS and CAD software like ArcGIS and AutoCAD.

This role is estimated to offer a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $220,000 AUD annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
