Arch Capital Group is seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter to join its team and contribute to the success of its Professional Liability division. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in underwriting new and existing business within set guidelines, authority levels, and service standards. Your exceptional analytical skills and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively will make you an invaluable asset to our team.



Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and existing business within set guidelines, authority levels, and service standards.
  • Mentor and develop underwriters, providing guidance and training to ensure they meet expectations.
  • Report to senior management, providing regular updates on portfolio performance and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain key broker relationships, ensuring excellent customer service and achieving operational and service targets.
  • Work with senior underwriters and management to develop new business opportunities and implement distribution strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, industry codes, and Arch organisational standards.
  • Apply sound underwriting practices to new business, mid-term alterations, and renewal management.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of legislative frameworks.
  • Demonstrable ability to grow a profitable portfolio.
  • Tertiary qualifications desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
