Design Manager

Lycopodium Limited is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our Minerals team in Perth. As a key stakeholder, you will lead and manage multi-discipline engineering and design activities for projects and studies, ensuring technical compliance, quality, cost, safety, sustainability, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate technical aspects of project engineering, design, and drafting.
- Monitor project design team progress, provide input, and offer feedback and support as needed.
- Coordinate multi-discipline engineering, design, and drafting resources to achieve agreed deliverables within scheduled dates and allocated man-hour budgets.
- Provide engineering designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
- Approve, guide, and review engineering designs, including calculations and design development.
- Ensure adherence to engineering and design procedures, including calculation checking, design reviews, and change management.
- Maximize productivity and efficiency by planning, scheduling, and allocating resources effectively.
- Incorporate safety in design and technical integrity within the engineering design process.
- Contribute to engineers-in-training professional development by providing mentoring and identifying avenues for development.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives that support business priorities for continuous improvement.
- Relevant tertiary education qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent).
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in mineral processing or related industries, with experience in gold, base metals, or lithium being considered favorably.
- CPEng and RPEQ accreditation (preferred).
- High attention to detail, demonstrated high level of technical ability, and exceptional knowledge across a broad range of disciplines.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality service to clients within budget and time constraints.
- Extensive understanding of studies, projects, and detailed design execution, mine operation challenges, and requirements, and risk management process.
- Excellent interpersonal and client interaction skills.
- Willingness to travel outside Australia on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
- Commitment to continuously seek improvement in engineering solutions and design with a focus on new technologies and innovation.
- Intuitive leadership skills with the ability to initiate, lead, and manage change in a complex environment.
