About the Role

As a key member of the Jb Hi-Fi Limited team, the Group Payroll Manager will be responsible for driving the overall payroll strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate will provide leadership in resolving complex payroll issues, oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, and manage the preparation of all State and Federal tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement payroll strategy to support business growth and objectives
  • Provide expert advice on payroll compliance and legislative requirements
  • Lead payroll technology integration initiatives to enhance automation and efficiency
  • Manage payroll teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including PAYG tax, STP lodgements, and Superannuation Guarantee contributions

About You

  • 3-5+ years proven experience in a Payroll Manager role within a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Solid understanding of payroll practices, legislation, and compliance
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and flexible approach
  • Effective time management to prioritise and follow through on competing demands
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with Excel skills being particularly crucial for data analysis and reporting
