We seek skilled and passionate Anthropology professionals to contribute to the protection of Aboriginal rights and interests in land and waters across the Northern Territory.

About the Role:

  • A degree in Anthropology or related discipline; or extensive experience in a similar industry or role and minimum two (2) years practical experience.
  • Knowledge of the ALRA and the NTA.
  • Proven ability to research, prepare and draft anthropological reports, associated materials and other documents fit for purpose.
  • Sound time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to travel and work in remote locations on a regular basis.

For this position, you will provide high-quality anthropological advice and representation on matters that truly make a difference to traditional Aboriginal owners, Native Title Holders and their communities.

Our primary focus is on identifying, representing and assisting these groups in matters arising from the acquisition, use, occupation and management of their land.

As an Anthropologist with our team, you will work collaboratively across all teams, gaining rich and varied experience.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in anthropological fieldwork and research, strong cultural competency and a respectful approach to working with Aboriginal communities.

Key aspects of the role include:

  1. Researching, preparing and drafting anthropological reports and associated materials.
  2. Providing high-quality anthropological advice and representation on matters affecting traditional Aboriginal owners, Native Title Holders and their communities.
  3. Working collaboratively across all teams to identify, represent and assist these groups in matters arising from land acquisitions, use, occupation and management.
