Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to assist in managing the plant's maintenance operations within the meat manufacturing industry. Your responsibilities will include prioritizing work requests, controlling costs, and ensuring high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend to call-outs and assist with breakdowns to maintain plant operations during production.
  • Oversee the maintenance program, preventive maintenance, corrective actions, and responding to breakdowns
  • Identify trends in recurring maintenance issues and report them to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure timely responses to work requests, allocating resources as needed.
  • Review current work practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Source vendors, negotiate prices, and place orders for necessary parts.
  • Minimize production disruptions by effectively scheduling work requests and activities.
  • Supervise contractors in accordance with our contractor management plan

Requirements:

  • A relevant Trade Certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency with Maintenance Management System, ideally SAP
  • A strong focus on quality and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to think quickly, clearly, and logically, even under tight deadlines
  • Confidence in communicating at all levels
  • Proven experience in both mechanical & electrical maintenance
  • While previous experience in an FMCG production environment is advantageous, it is not essential
