The Medical Oncology Consultant plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional clinical care to patients in the Medical Oncology Department. This individual excels in both individual performance and leadership within a multidisciplinary care framework, fostering a collaborative environment that drives patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities include engaging with medical students, trainee medical officers, and relevant Nursing and Allied Health professionals through teaching and mentorship initiatives. Additionally, this role entails active participation in clinical audit, quality and safety management, clinical risk assessment, research endeavors, and ongoing medical education initiatives.

About the Hospital:

  • This is a 280-bed acute and extended care facility providing surgical, medical, paediatric, obstetrics and gynaecology, intensive care, and psychiatry services, as well as extended care and regional services.
  • The region experiences a high incidence of road accidents, skin cancer, farm injuries, and work safety accidents.

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be registered with AHPRA and have at least 12 months recent experience in Medical Oncology.
  • Be on RACP training program within 6 months of completing fellowship.
  • Hold or be eligible for the FRACP.
  • Meet the requirements for the Competent Authority Pathway (UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ) or IMGs with RACP interview date or assessed by RACP and found substantially comparable.
