About the Role

We are looking for a Public Policy Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Communications and Public Relations department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies to advance our organisation's policy priorities.

Your role will involve monitoring and analysing emerging government policies, legislation, and regulations that impact the private healthcare sector. You will provide strategic advice to senior management on policy developments and their potential impact on our hospitals and services.

You will build and maintain strong, positive relationships with key government stakeholders, including ministers, advisors, departmental representatives, and parliamentary members. This will involve collaborating with internal teams to align policy advocacy efforts with broader organisational objectives.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Developing and implementing advocacy strategies to advance our organisation's policy priorities
  2. Maintaining and growing strong relationships with key government stakeholders
  3. Providing strategic advice to senior management on policy developments
  4. Collaborating with internal teams to align policy advocacy efforts with broader organisational objectives

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a related field
  • Five years experience in a senior role, with demonstrable experience in government relations or public policy
  • Experience liaising with and advising CEOs and senior leaders on communications and stakeholder activities
  • Outstanding writing skills and ability to produce clear and compelling information simply and consistently
  • A good understanding of key corporate drivers and a strong ability for strategic planning and development
