As a Technical Officer in the Blood Bank, you will be performing a range of diagnostic laboratory functions including pre-transfusion testing, antenatal serology and antibody investigations. You will work closely with a team to ensure accurate and timely outcomes that support patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic laboratory functions including pre-transfusion testing, antenatal serology and antibody investigations.
  • Validate test results and contribute to quality control processes to ensure accurate outcomes.
  • Participate in 24-hour/7-day roster and on-call duties as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Organisational and Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to manage variable workloads, prioritise tasks and use initiative to solve problems while maintaining high-quality performance.
  • Laboratory Experience and Technical Knowledge: Recent experience in Blood Bank laboratory operations and a solid understanding of basic laboratory principles, science concepts and safety practices.
