Child Development Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Child Development Specialist to join our team in Carindale.

About the Role:

This is a key opportunity for a highly skilled professional to provide early intervention and therapy services to support children and families in maximising their independence and participation.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to determine goals and areas of need.
  • Provide information, education, and support to clients and families.
  • Develop functional, routine-based goals with clients and families.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy interventions and resources.
  • Review progress and set new priorities in collaboration with clients and families.
  • Support inclusion and participation in community activities.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders and ensure ongoing communication and support.
  • Foster continuous improvement through regular evaluation and review.

Necessary Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Psychology with current registration with AHPRA.
  • Possess a passion for making therapy fun, engaging, and meaningful for families.
  • Be able to provide counselling and offer knowledge of therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and parents.
  • Experience in completing risk assessments and mental health assessments is desirable.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary checks and certifications, including AHPRA registration, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, NDIS workers screening check, Covid-19 vaccination certificate or exemption, First Aid Training, and possession of a Driver's License and Vehicle.
