About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metering Engineer to join our team at AusNet Services. As a Metering Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our high voltage energy metering installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory diagnostic testing and calibration of energy metering test equipment and related measurement equipment
  • Test portable metering equipment to ensure compliance with Australian standards
  • Prepare technical reports to various accreditation levels
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is traceable to NMI/NATA and registered in Calnet/test equipment database
  • Liaise with internal and external customers about services provided by the team
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and expanding laboratory testing processes, procedures, and methods

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in electrical engineering and testing, with experience in high voltage energy metering installations. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of transmission and/or distribution network compliance equipment testing methodologies
  • Relevant qualifications and/or applied experience in electrical testing
  • Experience in testing electrical equipment, including current transformers, voltage transformers, secondary equipment, bridges, and burden boxes
  • Understanding of NATA's role in the electrical testing environment
