Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Mature Age Apprentice Fitter based in our NSW operations. As an Apprentice Fitter, you will work closely with qualified and experienced tradespeople, supervisors, and other apprentices to gain valuable skills and knowledge to secure your trade qualification (Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade).
Key Responsibilities
- Learn the safe use of tools and equipment, including hand and power tools and plant machinery (lathes, milling machines, slotter, horizontal borer, and drills)
- Examine and understand detailed drawings and specifications to determine the requirements for the task
- Work collaboratively with the team to achieve project goals and objectives
- Develop strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
- Motivation to succeed and a willingness to learn
- Values teamwork and has a positive attitude to working in a safe and productive manner
- Ability to follow direction with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to listen and understand customer and company requirements
- Commitment to building a long-term career
- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
- Reliable and punctual
- Genuine interest in this career
- A current driver's license
- Completion of a relevant pre-apprenticeship course is advantageous, but not essential
