Job Description

As a Diverse Education Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative teaching methodologies that cater to diverse learners. Your passion for inclusive education and commitment to excellence will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being registered with the South Australian Teachers Registration Board;
  • Committing to the ethos of an independent Christian school;
  • Having an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Inclusive Education or similar, OR a Bachelor of Education with prior experience working and leading in Diverse/Special Education settings;
  • Having experience working in Diverse/Special Education in schools;
  • Having a broad knowledge of various learning difficulties & disabilities;
  • Collaborating with primary and secondary classroom teachers and Diverse Education SSOs to support assessment for learning of their students with additional educational needs and identifying specific learning and support needs;
  • Working with external agencies to assess student needs and develop support programs for primary and secondary students;
  • Assisting the Diverse Education Leaders in providing professional advice, support and mentoring to classroom teachers;
  • Providing advice on appropriate specialist services to parents and teachers;
  • Collaboratively writing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEP) for eligible students;
  • Coordinating the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) at the Morphett Vale Campus with assistance from the Learning Support Coordinator.
