About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Relief Cook to provide exceptional meal services to residents across various communities in Victoria.
As a Relief Cook, you will cover planned and unplanned leave for our regular cooks. You'll prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and ensure residents enjoy a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in line with community menus and dietary requirements
- Ensure all meals are well-presented, nutritious, and delivered on time
- Reduce waste and manage stock efficiently
- Monitor and record food temperatures and follow food safety procedures
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area
- Sanitize all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils
- Handle and store cleaning products safely using correct PPE
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow HACCP guidelines and comply with food safety legislation
- Wear PPE and follow WHS procedures at all times
- Report any incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly
Communication and Teamwork:
- Interact respectfully and empathetically with residents
- Collaborate with community staff to ensure smooth meal service
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Food Safety Supervisor Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Current and valid National Police Check
- C-Class Driver's Licence and own vehicle
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of HACCP and safe food handling practices
