Job Opportunity: Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Support individuals in participating in recreational and social activities.
  • Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cleaning and meal preparation.
  • Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Requirements for Success:

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required to assist individuals with mobility limitations.
  • Knowledge of ADLs and experience providing personal care assistance.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
