Senior Manager, Line 2 Risk Oversight and Assurance

We are seeking a talented professional to join our risk management team as the subject matter expert. This role will be based in either Melbourne or Sydney and requires working at least three days a week in the office.

This pivotal position involves leveraging deep Line 2 risk expertise to support policy review and enhancement within Mercer Super. You will play a key role in a regulator-mandated risk transformation program, designing and implementing uplifted policies while fostering a culture of risk awareness across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct design and operating effectiveness reviews of existing policies, and draft updated frameworks for approval.
  • Provide expert input into risk management practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Partner with business leaders to advise on governance, risk, compliance obligations, and emerging risks, while supporting risk and control assessments.
  • Support initiatives to enhance skills and capabilities related to governance, risk, and compliance across the business.
  • Actively contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, and processes to effectively manage and forecast risks.

Requirements:

  • University-level qualifications in business management or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a risk, compliance, or legal role, with a focus on superannuation regulation.
  • Proven ability to operate within risk and compliance frameworks, with a strategic and commercial approach to compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills to prepare reports on risk profiles, compliance plans, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in providing information to Boards and Directors.
