Senior Speech Pathologist Role Overview

The Department of Health is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Speech Pathologist to join our Audiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and coordinating Speech Pathology services to clients seen in the Statewide Audiology Service, including the Tasmanian Cochlear Implant Clinic & Diagnostic Audiology Clinic.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of and experience in providing paediatric speech pathology services within a multidisciplinary framework, as well as demonstrated knowledge of the impact of hearing loss on speech, language and communication. They will also possess the ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative to work with minimum supervision in a complex working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality Speech Pathology services to clients in the Statewide Audiology Service.
  • Co-ordinate Speech Pathology services across the service, including the Tasmanian Cochlear Implant Clinic & Diagnostic Audiology Clinic.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in Applied Science, Speech Pathology or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
