Job Role: Traffic Management Specialist

The role of the Traffic Net Support Officer is to provide technical support and systems administration for the Traffic Management Centre and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

This position is responsible for maintaining computer networks, server/client systems, and ensuring asset control, information technology security, change management, incident reporting, network availability, and server capacity monitoring.

  • A strong understanding of government programs, policies, and legislation is essential.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills are required to engage with colleagues, service providers, and customers at all levels.
  • Coordination and implementation of tasks across programs, projects, and systems is a key aspect of this role.
  • Finding practical solutions in varied situations is a vital skill for success in this position.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in a related field would be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • A current driver's licence is mandatory.

Special Conditions:

  • A National Police Check and Working With Children Check are required prior to employment.
  • Work outside of normal hours will be required as the role necessitates being on call for response to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement information technology security protocols and manage changes effectively.

• Monitor network availability and server capacity to ensure optimal performance.
