About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at WesTrac. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in creating certified, safe, and legally compliant engineered solutions for our customers.

You will design, develop, and capture certified Dealer Provided Options (DPO) for external customers, as well as designing and assessing certified workshop equipment and tools to ensure safety and legal compliance. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, suppliers, and CAT systems to meet customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Design and develop certified, safe, and legally compliant engineered solutions for WesTrac.
  • Create approved engineering designs and solutions.
  • Analyse Engineering Design Orders (EDO) and Dealer Provided Options (DPO).
  • Document designs and provide ad-hoc engineering support.
  • Maintain records in line with WesTrac quality systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) status with Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in resolving mechanical issues for mobile equipment.
  • Strong initiative, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Nastran.
  • Desirable: Experience in finite element analysis (FEA).
