About the Role

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Senior Practitioner, you will work closely with families, key partners, and stakeholders to provide an integrated response to support Aboriginal children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Empower families to share their story through culturally appropriate and trauma-informed engagement
  • Implement comprehensive risk assessments and develop interventions to address identified support needs
  • Work collaboratively with the parent/carer, family unit, and key partners to provide a family support service
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support the delivery of services

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Commitment to the values and vision of VACCA
  • Experience working with Aboriginal families and children
  • Good understanding of the Family Violence and Child Protection sectors, including comprehensive risk assessments
  • Relevant work experience supporting child development, family functioning, and trauma theories
  • Sound knowledge of and experience with implementing strengths-based interventions
  • Relevant diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Case Management role
