Craftsman Cabinetmaker

As a skilled professional in custom cabinetry, you will be responsible for creating high-quality wood products, including cabinets, furniture, and other related items. Your daily duties will involve taking specifications from clients or designers, undertaking precise cutout and assembly of custom cabinets, routing and sanding to achieve a smooth finish, reviewing drawings and specifications to create custom furniture, installation of doors, drawers, and other associated components, ensuring product quality meets industry standards, and performing maintenance and repairs where necessary.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Taking specifications from clients or designers to create custom cabinetry solutions.
• Undertaking precise cutout and assembly of custom cabinets, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Routing and sanding wood surfaces to achieve a smooth finish.
• Reviewing drawings and specifications to create custom furniture designs.
• Installing doors, drawers, and other associated components to complete the cabinetry project.
• Ensuring product quality meets industry standards through rigorous testing and inspection.
• Performing routine maintenance and repairs to extend the lifespan of wood products.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

• AQF Cert IV or higher qualification desirable.
• At least 2 years' experience in a cabinetmaking role or similar field.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, designers, and team members.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail to ensure accurate cutting and assembly.
• Strong technical design and production skills to create custom cabinetry solutions.
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver projects on time.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
• Confidence to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and manage expectations.
