Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic - Ship Propulsion Systems to join our team at the Australian Defence Force. As a Marine Technician - Propulsion, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing propulsion systems across ships and equipment ashore.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain diesel engines, gas turbines, and ancillary systems
  • Diagnose and repair propulsion systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failure
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in ship propulsion systems or related field
