The Role

We are seeking a Senior Laboratory Analyst to join our Chemistry Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of routine, specialized, and complex tests. You will have a thorough understanding of the tests, underpinning scientific principles, systems, and procedures to facilitate problem-solving and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out variable tests according to SOPs and methods, processing and checking results
  • Assist with routine calibration and maintenance of instruments
  • Prioritize work to meet daily deadlines
  • Interpret test results and perform calculations
  • Apply the principles of measurement uncertainty
  • Apply the quality system and continuous improvement processes
  • Maintain workplace safety
  • Review and release results to clients, provide training and guidance to junior staff
  • Oversee the whole team's workflow and step up as second in charge when required
Requirements
  • Experience in HPLC, GC, or LCMS
  • Minimum 2 years of Chemistry Lab experience
  • Ability to conduct complex sample preparation
  • Deep understanding of Chemistry and Instrumentation
  • Proven problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related discipline
  • Familiarity with LIMS
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrable knowledge of OHS requirements within a laboratory
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent time management
