About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join our Public Law team in Canberra.

The successful candidate will have significant expertise in privacy and freedom of information matters, particularly in the Commonwealth government sector.

As a key member of our team, you will work on a variety of matters, including advising on data protection, developing privacy compliant schemes, and preparing submissions to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on complex public law matters.
  • Preparing submissions and reports for the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
  • Developing and implementing privacy compliant schemes.

Requirements:

  • Between 5-8 years of post-admission experience working in or for the public sector/service on Commonwealth government matters.
  • Significant experience in privacy and FOI matters.
  • Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
