Our esteemed client, a global leader in producing natural insecticides, is seeking a Senior Farm Assistant/Farm Hand to join their team in Tasmania.

As a key member of the operational team, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day activities of the controlled farms, ensuring maximum yields and quality of crops.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring farm inputs are applied in accordance with recommendations or directions
  • Maintaining farm records
  • Efficient performance and operation of equipment
  • Implementing a planned maintenance program on farm equipment
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe manner

This role offers a pathway for career advancement, providing opportunities to transition into supervisory positions.

We are seeking individuals with a genuine interest in agriculture, who are comfortable working in a dynamic environment with varying tasks and responsibilities.

Adaptable and a team player, you will be willing to contribute to a supportive and cohesive team environment.

Your ability to work autonomously and think critically will be key, as you'll be given scheduled tasks while also being encouraged to problem-solve independently.

To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor maintenance tasks
  • Demonstrated experience with medium/large tractor operation
  • Demonstrated experience with medium/large scale irrigation systems and operations
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • First Aid Training Level 1 or above (or willing to undertake)
  • Farm Chemical Course – Accreditation (ChemCert)
  • Certificate III in Agriculture or higher discipline (desirable)
  • Driver's license
