Job Title:

Deli Assistant - Food Preparation Specialist

Description:

  • Slices meats and cheeses for package sale and assembled products using commercial slicers and scales.
  • Slices vegetables for salads, entrees, and garnish on prepared foods.
  • Assembles party trays, meals, pizzas, and salads according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Cooks chickens and ribs in a commercial rotisserie oven following proper food safety procedures.
  • Packages product, weighs ribs, and places them in heated display cases.
  • Rotates stock and pulls large boxes of ingredients and supplies from storage.
  • Prepares and labels fish and sushi items, packages them, and seals them with automated wrapping machines.
  • Reworks display cases and rotates merchandise to maintain a visually appealing store environment.
  • Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines and maintains a clean and sanitary work area.
  • Completes tasks related to health code compliance, including sanitation, temperatures, and pull dates.
  • Upholds safety and security procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Restocks and assembles large boxes of ingredients and supplies in the prep area.
  • Performs routine maintenance for machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Cleans equipment by disassembling and spraying it with cleaning agents and wiping down surfaces.
  • Washes and sanitizes parts in 3-compactor sinks.
  • Counts product on hand, figures production needs, and records data on daily forms.
  • Fills out time and temperature record forms and tracks inventory levels.
  • Records product that is salvaged, damaged, or destroyed for manager audits.
  • Completes sanitation checklists after final cleanups.
  • Cleans the Deli area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, scrubbing, and low-pressure washing.
  • Empties drain screens and trash cans.
  • Operates the trash compactor and cardboard baler.
  • Provides prompt and courteous member service and assists with front-end duties as needed.
  • Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Training: High school certificate or higher.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety preferred.
  • Experience: Food preparation experience preferred.
