About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Development Officer to join our dynamic team at the City of Mandurah. As a key player in our Community Development team, you will lead initiatives that address community safety needs, empowering residents and organisations to take an active role in shaping their future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and establish sustainable partnerships with key stakeholders to build community capacity, cohesion, and connectedness.
  • Design and implement community safety initiatives and responses to increase resident's and business' perceptions of safety.
  • Facilitate partnerships with local organisations, residents, businesses, and government bodies to ensure community safety is a shared priority.
  • Support the development of grassroots projects that empower individuals and groups to address local safety concerns, build resilience, and strengthen social cohesion.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Criminology, Social Science, or other relevant discipline.
  • Significant experience in a contemporary community development or related role.
  • Current National Police Clearance.
  • Current C (unrestricted) Licence.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).
