PhD Researcher: Engaging Perpetrators and Bystanders of Violence Against Women
2 months ago
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to a significant research project focusing on engaging perpetrators and bystanders across the Indo-Pacific region.
The project aims to produce intersectional and feminist research that delivers evidence-based initiatives to facilitate a new orthodoxy to intervening with perpetrators.
The research will explore ways of empowering individuals and communities to be active bystanders, promoting safety and non-violence.
The PhD candidate will investigate current understandings and responses that engage perpetrators or bystanders of violence against women and children, including innovative therapeutic, education, justice, and policy initiatives.
The research may also consider the intersectional life course trajectories of males in their attitudes and/or use of violence against women and children, as well as the impact of childhood and intergenerational trauma.
The scholarship recipient will be located with the Griffith University Node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW), under the supervision of Professor Patrick O'Leary.
The PhD candidate will benefit from multidisciplinary supervision and networking opportunities across academia and industry through conferences and CEVAW's partner organisations, nationally and internationally.
