About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Officer to join our team at selectability, a not-for-profit charity dedicated to improving mental wellbeing and contributing to suicide prevention across regional Queensland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating HR activities across our footprint and supporting our General Manager, Team Leaders, and other employees throughout this region.

Main Duties:

  • Recruitment for our teams, including placement of job adverts, candidate screening, coordinating interviews, guiding new starters through the onboarding process, preparing employment contracts, coordinating performance reviews, exiting employees, ensuring human resource compliance requirements are met, managing employee learning and competencies, providing support to leaders in performance management matters, managing grievances in a fair process.
About you

To be considered for this rewarding role, you will have great interpersonal skills and the ability to take direction and work as part of a team.

To be successful, you must:

  • Have experience in human resources, with a sound understanding of the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Have experience in community mental health (NDIS, aged care or child safety), which is highly desirable.
  • Be extremely organised and efficient with an eye for detail.
  • Have well-rounded administrative skills and experience.
  • Respect and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have experience in having difficult conversations.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Demonstrate experience in databases, with experience in TRACCS and PageUp being highly desirable.
  • Have a genuine interest in progressing your career in human resources.
  • Have a positive attitude.
